Route History

28th September 1996 - Route introduced between Purley Old Lodge Lane and Wallington Shotfield replacing the 450 between Purley & West Croydon and 255 between West Croydon and Wallington by Cowie (Arriva) London from their Beddington Farm (CN) garage

3rd March 2007 - Wright Cadets introduced

19th December 2009 - Rerouted slightly at Valley Park and double run via Beddington ASDA introduced

9th April 2011 - Extended to Wallington Station forecourt

3rd March 2012 - Abellio commence operating the route from their Beddington Cross (BC) garage using Caetano Nimbuses

4th March 2017 - Metrobus commence operating the route from their Croydon (C) garage using Enviro 200 Darts and Optare Esteems

2nd September 2017 - Route altered at Waddon Marsh to not serve the loop around Sainsbury's

9th August 2023 - Optare Metrocities introduced alongside the Enviro 200s

2nd March 2024 - Route withdrawn and replaced by routes 166, 312 and route S4
